Pinehurst sits in the heart of North Carolina's Sandhills, a region known for its sandy, well-draining soil and rolling, pine covered terrain built around some of the most famous golf courses in the country. From historic homes near the Village of Pinehurst to properties along the fairways of Pinehurst No. 2 and other nearby courses, lot shapes and grading here vary as much as the golf holes themselves. Building a pool in this part of North Carolina takes local knowledge of sandy soil conditions and rolling grades, not a plan built for clay heavy Triangle lots.
Currin Outdoor Living brings pool building and design to homeowners across Pinehurst. We know how to work with the area's sandy Sandhills soil and rolling, golf course adjacent lots, and we manage permitting and HOA approval where it applies. From your first design idea through the final finish, our team stays with you every step, so your pool comes together smoothly and you're ready to swim sooner rather than later.

Get a comprehensive, free estimate for your custom inground pool design and construction project.
Visualize your pool before we ever break ground. We create highly detailed, scale-accurate 3D structural blueprints showing exact water elevations, depth configurations, and linear or freeform styles tailored to your property lines.
As a professional licensed pool contractor, we handle the entire bureaucratic process. Our team secures all mandatory City of Pinehurst building and electrical permits, manages Wake County watershed restrictions, and prepares comprehensive HOA approval packages.
We engineer and build high-strength, steel-reinforced concrete pool shells designed specifically to withstand the heavy pressure of North Carolina’s dense red clay soils, ensuring structural longevity for your investment.
Customize the texture and aesthetics of your pool interior. Choose from long-lasting pebble, high-grade quartz, or polished plaster finishes, framed by beautiful natural stone or porcelain tile and custom coping options.
Add luxury components engineered directly into your concrete shell structure. We install seamless custom spillover spas, rock waterfalls, relaxing sun shelves, and wide tanning ledges tailored to your family's lifestyle.
Enjoy a low-maintenance swimming pool with cutting-edge equipment. We install energy-efficient circulation pumps, high-capacity filtration systems, automated saltwater units, and smartphone-controlled LED pool lighting.
From your first consultation to the final walk-through, our process is built to be clear, collaborative, and complete. We've developed a step-by-step system that keeps your project moving forward with purpose. Here's what to expect when you work with Currin Outdoor Living.

Working with Jon and his team was fantastic. Truly a professional company with phenomenal design work and attention to detail. The team did a great job and we couldn’t be happier with our new patio, built-in fire pit and landscaping.
I could not be more pleased with the work of this company. Beginning with Jon, who came out to help me plan the job, to the completion of the job today. Everything worked out exactly as we planned. The guys today were fun, competent,
and hard working.
Wonderfully professionally yet always approachable, our family had a great experience with Currin Outdoor Living. We knew we wanted a complete redesign of our backyard - but we had no idea where to start. Would recommend without reservation.
Jon Currin came to our home and listened to our thoughts, asked questions which proved to us he was thinking hard about how our family would live in the space, and then created a thoughtful hardscape and landscape design.
Currin Landscaping truly exceeded all my expectations! From the initial consultation to the final touches they were fully engaged and very responsive, their entire team displayed exceptional professionalism and expertise.
They transformed our back yard into an amazing retreat for my family and I, combining a well planned design with meticulous attention to detail. Our project was completed in a timely manner, and the results were simply amazing.
Raleigh is home base for us, but Pinehurst and the wider Sandhills region fall within reach of our team as well, alongside our core coverage across Wake County and the Triangle. The Service Areas page has our full list, and if your property sits outside that footprint, reach out anyway. We take these on case by case.
Once we break ground, 12 to 16 weeks is the typical build window. Getting to that point can take longer here than in other areas, since gated communities like Pinewild and National Golf Club require HOA sign off, and pine covered lots often need a tree plan filed first. Because our pool building team manages everything directly, construction itself moves fast once those approvals clear.
Pricing shifts quite a bit from property to property here. Sandy soil, rolling grade, and finish selections all play into the final cost, which is why we don't quote off a standard price list. Our Luxury Pools process walks you through the numbers directly, and the Contact Us page is the fastest way to start that conversation.
Old Town Pinehurst, Pinewild Country Club, and the homes around Lake Pinehurst are all areas we've built in. Sandy, rolling lots call for a different approach than the clay heavy ground closer to Raleigh, and it's something our crew has experience working with. Our Portfolio has examples if you'd like to see the finished results.
This varies by community. Pinewild and National Golf Club both require HOA approval before anything starts, and lots with mature pines usually need a tree protection plan on file with the town. We take care of both during the design phase of your project, ahead of construction, so nothing catches you off guard once building starts.
Every great outdoor space starts with a conversation.
